Podcast 43 in the learn English through listening podcast series. This episode is called “From Stench to Fragrance”.
Now this week’s podcast is all about smells. Or rather it’s all about different English words for smell. First of all the word ‘smell’. Smell is fairly neutral. You can use smell for good things and for bad things. So you might say ‘the smell of freshly baked bread’, or ‘the smell of freshly made coffee’. These are pleasant smells. But you might also say ‘the smell of bad fish was too much’ – so it can be for unpleasant things as well.
As always we recommend you view the supporting transcript on the website to support you.
